Cel-cel communicatie = nodig voor coördinatie van cel activiteiten.

Endocrien:

Autocrien:
type groeistimulatie ➔ komt vaak voor bij cellen in weefselkweek. Meerdere groeifactoren werken op
deze wijze.
Paracrien:
Signalisatie blijft hier beperkt tot cellen in onmiddellijke omgeving. Dit wordt veroorzaakt door een
snelle opname, afbraak of immobilisatie.
Voorbeeld paracrine signalisatie: vrijzetting neurotransmitter via exocytose
Belangrijk: neurotransmitter is slechts tijdelijk aanwezig:
- endocytose (heropname) van neurotransmitter
- afbraak neurotransmitter door enzymen in de synaptische spleet (´synaptic cleft´)
