Nervus trigeminus
Nervus trigeminus = vijfde hersenzenuw (n. V)
- Gevoel van de gebitselementen + slijmvliezen mond, neus en neusbijholten + gezichtshuid +
motoriek kauwspieren.
- Bevat sensibele (aferente) en motorische (eferente) vezels.
Nervus trigeminus = drielingszenuw
- Sensorische vezels: radix sensoria (porto major – dik).
- Motorische vezels: radix motoria (porto minor – dun).
Ontspringt lateraal uit de pons (hersenstam).
Vanuit ganglion trigeminale drie hoofdvertakkingen.
V: nervus trigeminus (sensorisch en motorisch)

cuspidaat en incisieven en bijbehorende vestbulaire gingiva.
- Andere afakkingen: huid zijkant neus, distaal ooglid, huid en mucosa bovenlip.
- N. zygomatcus: huid jukbeen, traanklier.
- Ganglion pterygopalatnum
- Nn. nasopalatni: voorste deel palatum durum, gingiva
incisieven en cuspidaat boven (palatnale zijde), slijmvlies
neusholte.
