Tell me about yourself. - ANSI am a recent grad from UVA, where I studied international
relations. I moved to NYC in August and I love it. I love cooking (and eating), I'm a big fan of
stand up comedy, and I love television. I started out college thinking I would work in
international policy - however, during my time at school I increasingly became interested in
television. I did some news video production at work and through my research in the industry
I learned more about the role of agents. I was really drawn to agency work because I find it
really fun, challenging and ultimately rewarding to be able to broker deals and sell people on
a great idea.
Why CAA? - ANSI love the idea of CAA because it was built on such a loose structure, with
the main idea being just to serve the client and create great deals and package awesome
talent. I think, from people I have talked to in the industry and in the company (Michael
Mand), that CAA has maintained that mindset through all its growth and changes and the
way it's really upended the agency industry.
Why CAA instead of a boutique agency? - ANSContinued: I think CAA can offer me a better
experience and a better intro to the agency business than a competitor like a boutique
agency simply because CAA is really at the heart of the talent industry. You get to witness so
much happening on an unbelievable level and you can learn so much from all that.
What is your weakness/strength? - ANSStrength: good listener, can hear where a project
wants to go and deliver/take it a step further
— good at reading people
Weakness: the flip side of listening — not as articulate as I want to be sometimes, j can find
it hard to advocate for myself
— not very patient
How do you stay abreast of industry news? - ANSTHR, Variety, People
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? - ANSIn five years I would hope to be a junior agent
in scripted television, or comedy. Those are both fields I'm really passionate about so to be
involved in the development of the industry and in people's careers would be really
rewarding.
What aspects of your previous jobs did you enjoy doing most? - ANSI've had a hodgepodge
of different work experiences at this point, and I have really loved being able to try new
things and get new perspectives on the industry. I enjoyed casting because it was super
rewarding to be able to be part of discovering new talent. Being a production assistant was
also great because it was awesome to see a production come together and to be able to see
how you palpably contributed to that.
