Habituation refers to the diminished responsiveness to a stimulus after repeated exposure to it.
Reduction is the effectiveness of a stimulus in eliciting a response, following repeated exposure to the
stimulus

Acoustic startle reflex:
- Defensive response to unexpected loud noises
