Spreadsheet Type of software used to manipulate numbers
Word processing Type of software used to compose letters
Shareware Shareware is software that can be used for a trial
period. If you want to continue using the software, you
must pay for it.
Freeware Software you can obtain without paying for it and
install as often as you like.
Defragmentation The defragmentation utility will rearrange and
consolidate the distributed parts of files on disk. So that
it can be obtained faster.


Disk clean-up Used to scan the disk for errors and corrupt files. And
then try to fix it
Client The general term given to any computing device that
uses network resources.

LAN Connect computers using cables. A WLAN is simply a
LAN implemented using wireless connectivity.



WLAN Connect computers using radio waves. A LAN is a
network that covers limited (geographical) area.
Intranet An organisation's private network, which consists of
web pages referring to the organisation's business.

employees of the organisation.
Target audience The group you report to. It should be considered to
