Hoorcollege 6 De Familie “Terra”Afstamming van de mens
Mensen stammen niet af van de apen. De mensen en apen hebben een
gemeenschappelijke voorouder. Apen en mensen zijn familie van elkaar. Je zou kunnen
zeggen dat we neven en nichten zijn. Als we zouden afstammen van apen zouden apen er
nu niet meer zijn.
Primaten
Primaten zijn waarschijnlijk ontstaan in het Krijt (60 miljoen jaar geleden). Primaten uit die
tijd leefden in bomen in oerwouden. De
meeste primaten leven daar nog steeds.
De belangrijkste unieke anatomische eigenschappen van primaten:
- de grootte van de hersenpan en de hersenen.
- het afgevlakte gezocht en de voorwaartse positie van de ogen. Door die ogen krijg je
een stereoscopisch gezichtsvermogen. Je kan heel goed driedimensionaal kijken.
