In elke fase (oranje kaders) zijn bepaalde spanningen als we deze stress niet kunnen regulariseren
en metalliseren (=afstemmen op noden van de cliënt) heeft dit gevolgen vb. overstuur geraken.

- Adaptatie: (co) reguleren van stress en emoties met oog op homeostase, wanneer de
lichamelijke of basale noden niet worden beantwoord worden mensen overstuur.
- 1e socialisatie: op zoek naar een veilige gehechtheidsrelatie met oog op aanvaarden van
ondersteuning (vertrouwen vs. Angst)
- 1e individuatie: het vormen van een uniek persoon
