Unit 5:
• Define academic research.
• Explain how to insert in-text references and bibliography entries correctly, and
apply this information to actual texts, using the Harvard referencing style.
Unit 6:
• Explain what is meant by ‘reading a visual text’.
• Briefly explain how photographs and films are analysed for academic purposes,
and apply this knowledge to actual photographs and film clips.
Unit 7:
• Produce two different types of infographics for academic purposes, using
applicable software.
• Produce a hand-drawn mind map, based on academic material provided.
Unit 8:
• List the elements of multimedia that may be required as part of academic
assignments.
• Build a basic website that consists of a home page, an about page and a contact
page, using applicable website building tools that are available online.
