Course Catalog Description:
Using established professional standards, guidelines, competencies, and best practices learners are
taught effective communication skills, physical assessment interviewing skills, medication
administration, and documentation. Attention is also given to the development of critical thinking skills,
caring behaviors, interpersonal relationships in order to meet the physiological, psychosocial, spiritual,
and cultural needs of patients. Legal and ethical aspects of nursing are explored along with the nurse’s
role in health promotion.
