M1
In this task, I will be comparing the training needs of the employees of Savers Plus at the different
levels – organisational, departmental and individual and I will look at what training can be used it all
these three departments.
Department Type of training
The organisational level is the biggest department in the company and the training of this level w
involve more planning and effort, as the whole organisation will depend on the skills of this leve
The training needs analysis of the organisational level is different from the departmental and th
Organisational individual levels, as it starts with reviewing the strategic and operational plans of the company.
When Savers Plus have their strategic plan, they can review it from the perspective of skills,
knowledge and behaviour that will help the company to develop and build its strengths and
address their weaknesses.
Strategic:
The strategic decisions are the long term overall aims of the company and they set the tone for
more specific decisions. This decision will help the company to consider how training will help
them to move the organisation towards their long-term goals. For example, one of the main
strategic aims of Savers Plus is to increase their profit, so that their company can be successful.
This is similar to the other two levels, as their overall aim is to help rise up the profit, by increasi
the sales. This means that the company needs to create a training scheme that will help them to
attract customers and rise up the profit. Moreover, another strategic objective is increasing the
turnover, which is a sign of a growing a successful business. This is also alike with the
departmental and individual level, as increasing the turnover is important for the company to ru
smoothly. The last strategic objective of Savers Plus Company is to become market leader. By
providing the right training to the employees, the company will improve their performance, whi
will have great impact on their reputation and will help them to become market leaders. As the
organisational level is at the top of the hierarchy, the training needed for them is at higher level
they are affecting the whole company.
Operational:
The operational decisions are related to the everyday operation of the company, it is important
make these decisions consistent with the strategic ones, in order to be an effective company. Fo
example, one of the main objectives of Savers Plus is to provide training that will increase the
productivity of the employees. When the productivity is increased the work produced will be mo
effective and successful. This objective is also close to the departmental level as it is also
important for them to increase productivity in their department, which is a similarity of the aims
This shows that organisational and departmental level are similar. Introducing new technologies
another operational objective, as Savers Plus should offer a suitable training in order for the
employees to be up to date with the changes. Similarly, in the other two level of the company,
they will need suitable training, as they will need to learn how to use them correctly and keep u
to date with the new introduced technologies. Moreover, training the employees in the
organisational level about the health & safety, will make them more effective and will prevent a
issues from occurring in the company. This can be similar the departmental and individual level,
health & safety training will make them feel safe in the working environment and they will work
productively. Furthermore, at this level companies need to introduce succession training for the
employees, in order for them to be successful as they are at the top of the hierarchy and the
training will be at higher level. The last important operational objective for Savers Plus and othe
companies is satisfying the UK and EU legislations.
The departmental level is the next department in an organisation. It involves taking into
