Entertainment Programme
Rationale- The overall programme I have created and the activities I have picked for Butlins to
entertain 13-17-year olds involves all activities being fun, sporty, active and creative. The total
amount of time of all activities is 5 hours which is what the client requested. The reason why Butlins
have asked for this is because they currently don’t offer activities for 13-17 year olds at the resort
and want to fill this gap. By having this programme, it means parents are able to go off and spend
time on their own and enjoy themselves, whilst leaving their children in a safe but fun environment-
so everyone gets the best of Butlins!
Aims- What I want to achieve from this is that Butlins marketing team carry on this 13-17-year-old
entertainment programme throughout the holiday months where hopefully the uptake will increase
when more teenagers visit the resort and they all enjoy themselves in the activities they take part in.
Objectives-
1) To have 25-35 teenagers aged 13-17 to attend all activities when the programme first comes into
place, by encouraging them to take part, make new friends and to feel comfortable being
themselves whilst attending.
2) To make sure parents feel comfortable leaving their child with the entertainment team and letting
them take part in activities whilst they go off and do their own activities or have some time
away/relax.
3) That all activities are performed in a safe environment; meaning that risk assessments are done
and that there are procedures in place if anything happens. Enough staff to teen ratio.
4) To encourage teens that they don’t need to be on their phones all the time on holiday and
hopefully this makes an impact and they reduce their time when they get back home. It’ll also
expose them to taking part in different activities they might not have at home.
5)At the end of their stay to have achieved at least 80% positive feedback from the children/parents.
Target Market- The target market is male and female teenagers aged 13-17 years old. All-inclusive
activities have been picked meaning everything is assessable and enjoyable for all regardless of
abilities, gender, race and sex.
