2. ASSESSMENT PLAN FOR HRM3703
In tutorial Letter HRM3703/101/3/2023 we have indicated that we will be using a continuous assessment strategy
for this module. We have also provided detailed information in the Assessment information document
available under Additional Resources on the HRM3703 module site. Therefore, you will not be required to
write a final online examination. Instead, the marks you obtain for all the assessments during the semester
will contribute to your final mark for this module. Each of the assessments contribute a certain percentage
(indicated as a weight) to the final mark. In line with this strategy, the assessment questions and instructions are
not available from the start, but are published at regular intervals throughout the semester. The relevant dates
are communicated in the module-specific Assessment information document. We also update the welcome
message on the HRM3703 myUnisa module site on a regular basis to reflect the due dates of assessments.
There are seven (7) assessment opportunities for this module, but only six (6) assessments will contribute
towards your final mark for the module (only one assessment is mandatory - that is Assessment 07). In other
words, you can choose to submit any five (5) assessments from Assessment 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06 and you
have to also submit Assessment 07 (this assessment will contribute 35% towards your final assessment
mark for this module). Assessments 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06 are thus elective assessments. Each
assessment contributes a certain percentage (indicated as a weight) towards your final mark for this module, so
you can manage your own learning throughout the semester, see more information about the calculation of your
final mark for this module in section 16 of the Assessment information document that you find under Additional
Resources on the HRM3703 module site.
The submission dates for all assessments are non-negotiable. We will communicate about the assessments via
announcements on the HRM3703 myUnisa module site, you will also see that we refer to the assessment on
the welcome message on that site and in the Assessment information document.
Can you submit all seven assessments? Yes, you can, but only the five (5) assessments with the highest marks
(from Assessment 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06) will then contribute towards your final mark (according to the
specified weights) for the module together with the mark that you obtained for the mandatory assessment
(Assessment 07).
3. FORMAT OF ASSESSMENT 03
Assessment 03 is a written assessment comprising several discussion and application questions and it will
contribute 13% towards your final mark. We cover the material as indicated in the first section of this document,
ensure that you work through all the material before attempting the Assessment. This is an elective
assessment so you can choose not to submit it and you will then have to submit all the other
assessments.
Answer the questions in Assessment 03 in typed format and then convert your answer file to pdf format.
4. ASSESSMENT DUE DATE
Assessment 03 will be made available on myUnisa on 28 August 2023 and it is due for submission on myUnisa
before 23:00 on 05 September 2023.
There is no restriction on the time that you may spend on completing the assessment. You may therefore access
and work on the assessment at any time during the above period. You must, however, submit your assessment
online on or before the stipulated due date and time. The system will close after this date and time after which
no further submissions will be possible. Make provision for systems downtime, load shedding and other
events so start well in advance with the assessment and try to submit it well before the due date and
time.
you on the HRM3703 myUnisa module site. In the absence of such decisions, no extension for the submission
of the assessment will be granted by the lecturer. The onus is on you to ensure that you submit the
assessment on time. Make provision for system downtime, load shedding or times when the system might be
slow due to large numbers of students accessing the system. Therefore, when planning your activities, rather
aim to submit the assessment a day or two before the due date.
5. SUBMISSION OF THE ASSESSMENT
The assessment must be completed and then submitted in pdf format on the HRM3703 myUnisa module site.

your PC/laptop and then add the assessment file.

The uploaded file may be replaced as many times as needed prior to the due date and time for this
assessment. Once the due date and time for the assessment have lapsed, the system will close for
submission. No further submission or replacement of documents will then be possible. The last file
uploaded will be assessed. So please double check your submissions.
Before you attempt this assessment we recommend that you access the MOOC course on Basic Skills in
myModules on myUnisa, which is available online (we have also added this to the HRM3703 module site).
Work specifically through Lesson 12: How do I submit my assignments? and the video How to submit an
Assessment in myModules.
