De technologie speelt in het onderwijs een steeds grotere rol, waarin de 21st century skills ontwikkeld
moeten worden (Platform Onderwijs2032, 2016). Vandaar dat vele scholen gebruik maken van tablets.
In dit adviesrapport wordt de innovatie van tablets in de onderbouw van het basisonderwijs besproken,
met een focus op leesvaardigheid. De leesvaardigheid van Nederlandse leerlingen gaat namelijk
achteruit. De vraag die centraal staat is: ‘Welke resultaten zijn te verwachten van het implementeren
van tablets in de onderbouw van het basisonderwijs om de leesvaardigheid te bevorderen en hoe kan
deze innovatie op een duurzame manier worden georganiseerd en uitgevoerd?’. In dit rapport worden
positieve wetenschappelijke resultaten besproken van de impact van tablets op taalvaardigheid.
Daarnaast worden twee organisatorische acties toegelicht die een learning organisation bevorderen en
factoren die van belang zijn bij de implementatie en duurzaamheid van deze innovatie, waaronder
leiderschap en individuele professionalisering, om het tot een succes te maken.
