Political economy approach is used to examine issue of power and financial gain to reveal why some hazards are receded and others are not Major stakeholders in OHS system - -Government: pass law, researches ohs issue, enforces ohs legislation, workplace inspection, gives out info, promotes training education research, resolution of ohs dispute -Employer: prepare written policies statement, health and safety policies, ensuring ohs is showcased in organization. Must meet practicable standards, must do due test of due diligence. Take reasonable precautions and steps to prevent injury using 3 part test, must make sure workers work in compliance with ohs acts and regulations, make sure workers use prescribed protective equipment devices, advice workers of actual and potential hazard. Take every reasonable precaution in a circumstance to protect workers. They have to provide competent supervisors, train workers, prevent violence and harassment. They have to work with joint worksite hoo . They have to ensure health, safety and welfare of workers and public -employee must perform their job duties and tasks in a safe manner.
