WAT IS ‘LOKALE’ POLITIEK? 1.1
Wat associeer je met lokale politiek? Wat is anders dan “nationale”?
➔ Politiek heeft betrekking op vormen van samenwerking en conflict m.b.t. collectieve
beslissingen, d.w.z. beslissingen die in naam van en voor de hele politieke gemeenschap
genomen moeten worden om het samenleven via bindende regels te ordenen.
, ➔ Daartoe hebben zich specifieke instellingen en procedures ontwikkeld, alsook een politieke
cultuur.
➔ Verplaatsing van de politiek: beslissingen trekken weg van politieke arena naar niet-
statelijke actoren, zoals multinationals.
Drie concepten die verbonden zijn met het lokale niveau typeren/onderscheiden.
• Nabijheid (1): dichter bij de burger, zeker in kleine gemeenten
• Vertrouwen (2): OECD-rapport toont dat er meer vertrouwen is in de lokale overheid in
praktisch alle EU-landen.
• Tevredenheid (3): meer tevreden in BE over het lokale beleid (5,6/10) vs. federaal (4,4/10).
