1.1. Algemene structuur en rol van het verhemelte bij
slikken
Dak van mondholte wordt gevormd door:
Vooraan het harde verhemelte
Achteraan het zachte verhemelte
In het midden: kam = raphe palati
Slikken: 3 fasen:
• Orale fase
Voedsel kauwen à vorming bolus à op tong gebracht
(in uitholling op middellijn)
Slikken: tong tegen dak mondholte gedrukt (belangrijk
dat verhemelte hard is)
• Farynxfase
Belangrijk: afsluiting nasofarynx
Moet bewegelijke zone zijn
• Slokdarmfase
1.2. Het harde verhemelte
- = palatum durum
- Ondersteund door botweefsel
- Aflijnend epitheel is keratiniserend meerlagig
plaveiselepitheel
- Bindweefsel versmelt met periost
o vooraan veel vetweefsel
o achteraan veel speekselklieren
o Centraal dun, vastgehecht aan mediale kam van been à vanuit kam
vertrekken laterale verhevenheden met centrale bindweefsel-as = palatine
rugae
Orale mucosa heeft de typische lagen:
• T.h.v. kam: mucoperiostium: orale mucosa via lamina propria verbonden met
periostium
• Laterale delen: onder lamina propria nog submucosa
o Anterieur: vetcellen
o Posterieur: mineure speekselklieren
