Es un árbol de tronco fuerte y rugoso, con hojas estrechas con
forma de aguja que se une por un vaina en grupos de 2,3 o 5, con
flores masculinas y femeninas en ramas distintas y cuyas semillas
(chicuyas o piñas) se encuentran en el interior de una formación
leñosa llamada piña; pinus: es un genero de plantas vasculares,
comúnmente llamadas pinos, pertenecientes al grupo de las
coníferas y dentro de este, a la familia de las Pinaceae ( aquellas
especies que tienen semillas con forma de cono y que por lo general,
tienen aspecto similar a una pirámide).

El pino tiene un gran número de propiedades medicinales:

 Enfermedades de pecho
 Espasmos bronquiales
 Función astringente a antiinfecciosa
 Bronquitis
 Tos
 Resfriado
 Faringitis
