Begint met subtiele anatomische afwijkingen bij herhaalde rotatie en axiale belasting
o Bij sporten als golf, kunstschaatsen, gymnastiek, ballet, vechtsporten, voetbal, tennis, honkbal.
Dit kan resulteren in ligamenteuze laksheid of spierzwakte.
Hierdoor ontstaat er een verhoogde beweging van de femurkop ten opzichte van het acetabulum.
Dit kan resulteren in schade van het labrum, kraakbeen op het gewrichtskapsel.

Afwijking aan zijde acetabulum: Pincer-letsel (te grote overdekking femurkop door acetabulum)
o Oorzaak kan te diep acetabulum zijn of retroversie van het acetabulum.
Stekende pijn liesregio, berperkte ROM na tijd, mechanische blokkage, ADL is pijnlijk
