Some general things you need to know:
1. ‘het’ and ‘word’ are the ONLY Verb1’s that can go after Verb2.
2. ‘klanke’ = vowels
3. You can start with any part of speech (S,T,M,P,I) as long as you put a verb immediately afterwards. You
cannot do this when starting with your object.
4. Always put a comma before group 1 conjunctions
5. Always put a semi-colon before group 2 conjunctions. NB: ‘al, dan, toe’ get a comma NOT a semi-colon.
6. Always put a comma before direct speech.

8. Waarheen/ waarnatoe? = Where to?
9. Waarvandaan? = Where from?
Types of questions that can be asked:
1. Waar/ Onwaar = True/ False
2. ‘Motiveer’ = you need to motivate your answer by using information from the passage UNLESS it says ‘in
jou eie woorde’, then you have to use your own words
3. ‘Haal aan’/’Gee ‘n aanhaling’ – quote from the passage AND don’t forget your quotation marks
4. ‘Noem’ = just name whatever it is asking you to, no need for a full sentence
