Licht nodig om te kunnen zien
Lichtbron: voorwerp dat zelf licht produceert
o Natuurlijke lichtbron (zon)
o Kunstmatige lichtbron (lamp, zaklamp,…)
1.1.2. DONKERE LICHAMEN
Donker lichaam: lichaam dat zelf geen licht produceert, maar pas zichtbaar wordt als
er licht op valt.
o Doorzichtig voorwerp: bijna al het licht doorlaten
o Doorschijnend voorwerp: gedeelte licht doorlaten
o Ondoorschijnend voorwerp: licht absorberen of terugkaatsen

Optische middenstof: stof waarin licht zich kan voortplanten
Experiment: kaarsje zien door een plastic plooibare buis
Licht plant zich rechtlijnig voort in een homogene middenstof

Evenwijdige lichtbundel: lichtstralen lopen evenwijdig
Divergerende lichtbundel: lichtstralen gaan uit elkaar
Convergerende lichtbundel: lichtstralen lopen naar elkaar toe

1.4.1. WAT IS SCHADUW
Schaduw ontstaat wanneer er licht invalt op een ondoorschijnend voorwerp
Schaduwvorming is een gevolg van rechtlijnige voortplanting van licht.
1.4.2. SCHADUWVORMING BIJ EEN PUNTVORMIGE LICHTBRON
Een puntvormige lichtbron vormt van een ondoorschijnend donker voorwerp/lichaam
een scherp schaduwbeeld. Er ontstaat achter het voorwerp een kernschaduw.
Een kernschaduw is een gebied waar totaal geen licht komt.
1.4.3. SCHADUWVORMING BIJ EEN NIET-PUNTVORMIGE LICHTBRON
