Paragraaf 2: Groei en ontwikkeling Groei:
Groei is het groter en zwaarder worden van het organisme.
Een zaad:
Aan de buitenkant van de bruine boon zit een bruin vlies, de
zaadhuid, die beschermt het zaad.
De witte vlek op de bruine boon is de navel. Met de navel heeft
het zaad vastgezeten aan de plant. Onder de navel zit een
hartvormig bultje.
Aan de andere kant van de navel zit een klein gaatje in de
zaadhuid. Die heet het poortje. Daardoor kan een zaad snel water
opnemen.
Water is nodig voor de kieming. In het zaad zit een kiem, het begin
voor een nieuwe plant. Tijdens de kieming groeit de kiem uit tot
een kiemplantje.
Zaadlobben zijn de eerste blaadjes die boven de grond komen, het
bevat de voedingsstoffen die een kiemplantje nodig heeft om te
groeien.

Levenscyclus
De ontwikkeling van een zaad tot een plant en daarna tot een
vrucht(met zaden) noem je de levenscyclus van een plant.
De levenscyclus van een plant:
Het zaadje neemt water op via het poortje.
Het zaadje zwelt op en de zaadhuid breekt open
Het worteltje komt naar buiten
Het worteltje groeit de grond in en de zaadlobben komen
boven de grond
Het kiemplantje groeit en gebruikt hierbij voedingsstoffen
uit de zaadlobben
Het kiemplantje wordt groter en krijgt meer bladeren. De
zaadlobben verdwijnen omdat het kiemplantje alle
voedingsstoffen uit de zaad lobben heeft verbruikt.
( daardoor raken ze leeg en verschrompelen.)
