Paragraaf 6 SamenhangDe wandelende tak is een insect dat geheel opgaat in zijn omgeving. Voor de
meeste insecten betekent opgegeten worden door een vogel het einde, maar
voor wandelende tak is het anders.
Eitjes van wandelende tak kunnen vogelmaag overleven.
o Een tijdje nadat vogel eitjes van wandelende tak had gegeten,
poepte hij onverteerde resten uit. In de poep zaten onbeschadigde
takkeneitjes.
In het wild eten bruinoorbuulbuuls vaak wandelende takken en het is dus
goed mogelijk dat eitjes van wandelende tak op deze manier wordt
verspreid.
o Niet bij alle vogelmagen overleven de takkeneitjes
Babytakjes die uit onbeschadigde eitjes komen, kunnen gelijk weglopen
op hun 6 pootjes. De takjes groeien door middel van vervellingen.
o Elke keer als ze zich ontdoen van oude pantser, groeien ze een
beetje. Ze eten het oude pantser op of laten het achter
Pas na 6 tot 9 vervellingen is een wandelende tak volwassen.
