Miguel de Cervantes nació en 1547 en Alcalá de Henares. Estudió con Juan Lópezde Hoyos, tras una riña con Antonio Segura, se marchó a Italia donde sirvió a un
cardenal, entró en la marina y participó en la batalla de Lepanto, en la cual fue preso
por los musulmanes, en la prisión de Argel.
Tuvo que esperar 5 años hasta que pagaron su rescate; cuando regresó a España
publicó su primer libro.
Por unos años sirvió como comisario de la armada y recaudador de impuestos
haciendo así que pasara mucho tiempo en andalucia.
