represents more opinions. They chose decentralized because it put less power in the
hands of the government.

ANS-They didn't want a repeat of what happened in Britain

What were the political problems the AOC caused? - ANS-There was no executive
branch and no president, so the laws weren't enforced. There was no judicial branch
and no national courts, so they couldn't resolve conflicts between states or admit new
states.

What were the military problems the AOC caused? - ANS-There was no commander-
in- chief (president) and the army was seperated into 13 militias, one for each state.
This meant that they couldn't defeat the Spanish for Mississippi or kick the Brits out of
the Ohio Valley.

worthless, there was no way to regulate international trade, and they were in debt from
the war without taxes to pay it back.
