Vietnam because North and South could not decide who would rule. On May 1st 1975
the conflict is finally resolved and North Vietnam won the country. The country was
communist and named Ho Chi Minh city.

John Mcain - ANS-Help captive in a torture facility in vietnam. When he came home he
had a career in poltice and ran for president in 2016.

Vietnam war memorial - ANS-Caused tension because it was never actually called a
war rather a conflict. It was built like a scar because it wounded Americans. It names of
all of the soldiers written on the memorial which made it more personal. It was an
acknowledgment that this was a traumatic event in american history it also broke the
stigma in some ways.

Post war problems - ANS-Many soldiers have PTSD and their are not many resources
to help at the time. In vietnam people were being put into concentration camps but they
called them "reeducation". People from vietnam fled to Cambodia which caused more
issues.

Pol Pot - ANS-Military dictator in cambodia. Pol pot thought anyone in cambodia that
has been corrupted by western ideas should be killed- this could be eyeglasses,
language, clothing, food could all get you killed. He killed over 1 million people of his
own.

New federalism - ANS-A plan that Nixon announces will give more power to state
government and will take some power away from federal government. Nixons says this
