Concepto de farmacia hospitalaria
Los hospitales cuentan con su propio servicio
de farmacia para poder así cubrir las
necesidades farmacoterapéuticas de los
pacientes
La farmacia hospitalaria debe garantizar la
correcta utilización de los medicamentos para:
• Cubrir las necesidades farmacológicas.
• Mejorar la calidad de vida.
Desde el SFH se dispensan medicamentos a las personas que se encuentran ingresadas, pero también atienden a
las personas que no lo están. Por ello tenemos que hacer referencia a:
• Dispensación intrahospitalaria: dirigida a los pacientes ingresados
• Dispensación extrahospitalaria: dirigida tanto a los pacientes ambulatorios (aquellos que reciben la
medicación desde alguna unidad específica como diálisis, hospital de día, etc…) y a pacientes externos, que

solo vienen al hospital a recoger medicación para seguir un tratamiento en su domicilio.

Regulación legal
La regulación de los servicios de farmacia
hospitalaria se ajusta a lo indicado en las siguientes
normas:
• Orden 1 febrero de 1977 por la que se regulan
los servicios farmacéuticos en los hospitales.
• Ley General de Sanidad (artículo 103) de 1986
(14/1986).
• Real Decreto Ley 16/2012 que garantiza la
sostenibilidad del Sistema Nacional de Salud.
• Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2015 sobre el uso
racional de los medicamentos y productos
