WISC-V Standardized Sample - 2,200 people with 11 age groups represented. 6 years 0 months- 16 years 11 months Chronological Age Calculation - Date of test minus date of birth. Subtract across going from days to years. Establishment of Rapport - 6 year old: Ask them their favorite color/ how they are liking school so far 16 year old: Ask them about their interests/sports It is important to do this so that the subject is comfortable with you, and so you are more likely to get a valid score. Start Points - Age specific; listed on Record Form and in Administration Manual. Sample/ demo items administered prior are not counted in the Total Raw Score. All items before basal are counted as correct. Reverse Rules - Intended to help determine when to administer items prior to the start point. Occurs if the child does not obtain a perfect score on either of the first two items. When this happens, administer backwards until you get two perfect scores. Designed to extend the number of easier items for children. Discontinue Rules - Criteria for determining when to stop giving a subtest. Designed to maintain rapport and minimize testing fatigue. On most subtests, this is usually after a child obtains a certain number of 0's. Award no credit for items beyond ceiling. Scoring of Subtests - • Never include sample items in raw score • Correct items beyond the discontinue are not included in the raw score, but can be useful for qualitative information • Reverse items: They are designed to extend the number of easier items for children suspected of intellectual disability or low cognitive ability. • Do not score items that are un-administered. Spoiled responses receive a score of 0.
