Binary search - ANS-a search algorithm that starts at the middle of a sorted set of
numbers and removes half of the data; this process repeats until the desired value is
found or all elements have been eliminated.

Prune-and-search - ANS-Find an optimal value by eliminating a constant fraction of
remaining objects at each step. Eliminated objects are guaranteed not to affect the
optimal value. A logarithmic number of steps reduces the number of objects to a
constant, and a brute force approach can then solve it.

Invariant - ANS-never changing over time

Bubblesort - ANS-algorithm uses a series of comparison and swap operations to
arrange the elements of a list in the correct order

Selectionsort - ANS-Sorts the values array using the selection sort algorithm

Insertionsort - ANS-A fast in-place sorting algorithm for small input sizes.
O(n^2)

Cocktail shaker sort - ANS-Best: O(n)
Average: O(n^2)

and requires N amount of extra space. Works by dividing an array in half continuously
into smaller and smaller arrays. At the lowest level, these arrays are sorted and then
merged together after sorting in the reverse order they were divided apart in.

in-place algorithm - ANS-When a sorting algorithm can sort the array in-place, meaning
it does not use any additional memory

Another definition is that it just rearranges the elements in a single list
