Gedurende mijn loopbaan als verpleegkundige kom ik veel in aanraking met CVA patiënten
waarbij de etiologie van het CVA roken is. Uit diverse wetenschappelijke onderzoeken is
gebleken dat roken een van de grootste risicofactoren is voor het ontwikkelen van een
herseninfarct of hersenbloeding. De indruk bestaat dat er tijdens de klinische opname weinig
tot geen aandacht wordt besteed aan voorlichting en begeleiding omtrent het rookgedrag van
de patiënt. Dit is mijn motivatie geweest om met dit onderwerp aan de slag te gaan. In de
inleiding van het verslag zal ik u hier meer over vertellen.
