Opdracht A en B
Ik loop stage bij De organisatie, een organisatie die zich richt op het ondersteunen van mensen met een
(licht) verstandelijke beperking. Als zorginstelling biedt De organisatie verschillende vormen van zorg,
begeleiding en ondersteuning aan individuen met uiteenlopende zorgbehoeften.
Bij deze opdracht vertoonde de cliënt in het begin enige vorm van weerstand, omdat hij zich schaamde
en niet gewend was dat iemand hem hielp bij zulke activiteiten. Bovendien was hij niet gemotiveerd om
specifiek deze ruimte schoon te maken.
Cliënt
De opdracht is uitgevoerd met een cliënt van 46 jaar met een licht verstandelijke beperking. Om zijn
privacy te waarborgen is zijn naam weggelaten. Hij is autistisch; behoefte aan regie en vaste patronen
is groot. Door ervaringen uit zijn verleden is hij in de veronderstelling dat zijn denkwijze de enige is. Een
huishoudelijke taak die iedereen moet doen, is de badkamer schoon achterlaten na gebruik.
Situatie
Er is een gezamenlijke badkamer in de gang en er zijn afspraken gemaakt over het schoon houden
hiervan. De cliënt wil zelf ook altijd dat de badkamer schoon is als hij gaat douchen, mist de vaardigheid
om deze zelfstandig schoon te maken. Dit houdt in: overtollig water weg trekken en vuile kleding van
de grond halen en in zijn wasmand plaatsen. Als ik hem hierop aanspreek, reageert hij defensief en
verheft hij zijn stem: ‘Ik heb gezegd dat ik de badkamer niet schoon kan maken’.
Ik heb toen aangegeven dat ik begrijp dat het geen leuke taak is, maar dat je juist gaat douchen om
schoon te worden. Als de ruimte zelf niet schoon is, dan wordt je lichaam dus ook niet schoon.
