The document contains an essay/report about the movie 'Jumanji' that was released in 2017. Four paragraphs are provided, where each start with a linking word and the opinion about the film is clearly described. The review was written at a b2/c1 level.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was directed by Jake Kasdan and aired in 2017.
The main characters are four high schoolers who got sucked into an old game. They
found it laying in the school attic and decided to kill time with it. The teens were
obligated to start the game as their designated players, when they were
announced that saving Jumanji lies in their hands. The story takes place in a jungle
with wild animals and NPCs that give them automatic responses. The eye-catching
plot, which is full of survival and with only three lives to spare each, they decided it
was best to team up. It was so nerve-wracking, and I couldn’t stop watching.
Furthermore, I admired that each person outgrew their weaknesses and embraced
their strengths. Spencer is clever and the hero, Bethany is outgoing and bright,
Martha is strong and also the bravest, and Fridge is funny and intelligent. All have
personalities I could somewhat confide in, which made it appreciable to watch. The
loyalty and trust they had in one another made them save Jumanji, it was cherishing
to see. Also, the camera fades and cinematography in different scenes added to
the watching experience.
However, the antagonist getting in their way irked me at times, but certainly, the plot
would’ve been too plain without it. Another thing I disliked, times when they got
defeated and lost lives because of the lack of information they got. It made it
distressing to watch. It felt unfair for them to lose lives for reasons they couldn’t
control, but even so, it added to their personalities and the movie in general.
I would recommend watching Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle. In my opinion,
having each other's backs is the most important to save one another. It seems to me
that the movie portrayed that beautifully. Not only did Jumanji get saved, but they
also restored the self-confidence that held them back from being their best person
in real life. Overall, I would give the movie an seven out of ten and I would watch
the runner-up movie, Jumanji: The Next Level, because of my interest.
