,HOMEOSTASE
= fysiologisch proces waarbij organismen inwendig milieu v biochemische & biofysische processen in
evenwicht houden ondanks veranderingen in de omgeving waarin organisme zich bevindt. Door
homeostase → organisme kan functie v elk individueel orgaan aanpassen waardoor aan integrale
behoefte v lichaam wordt voldaan.
Als organisme faalt in onderhouden v zijn homeostase → organisme kan sterven & elke ziekte : begint
met afwijken v homeostase
Omgevingsfactoren die de cel beïnvloeden : osmolariteit, temperatuur, pH, …
Materialen die de cel nodig heeft : voedingstoffen, water, Na+, Ca2+, …
Interne secreties hebben een algemeen & continu effect : hormonen & (neuro) transmitters die nodig
zijn voor communicatie tussen de cellen
Variabelen onder homeostatische controle
Bloeddruk, osmolariteit v lichaamsvloeistoffen, volume v lichaamsvloeistoffen, Na+ gehalte, Ca2+
gehalte, zuurstofgehalte, ..
Range = geen gefixeerd getal maar een interval
- Wanneer teveel of belangrijke parameters langdurig afwijken → altijd negatieve gevallen :
ziek zijn = failure of homeostasis
- Waarde v parameter wordt bepaald binnen bepaalde range → kan heel groot of beperkt zijn
- De snelheid waarmee een afwijking wordt aangepast kan sterk uiteenlopen (binnen seconden,
minuten tot uren & dagen)
