o EPO tekort, uremie, secundaire hyperparathyroïdie, teveel hepcidine (want EPO gaat inhiberen)
o Behandeling: rhEPO, ijzersupplementen PO of IV
- Anemie van chronische ziekte (ACD)
o Verstoorde werking EPO, verminderde levensduur, IL-6 gaat hepcidine stimuleren →
minder ijzer vrijzetting

- Niet auto-immuun: infectieus, chemisch of fysisch, mechanisch (macro- en microvasculaire fragmentatie)
o Fragmentatie: schade endotheel -> fibrinenetwerk -> schade RBC tijdens passeren
