11. Pleuraholte (cavitas pleuralis). Ruimte tussen de pariëtale en viscerale pleura. Bevat een kleine
hoeveelheid sereuze vloeistof.
12. Pleura. Sereus membraan bestaande uit geschubd epitheel en onderliggende bindweefsel.
13. Cupula van de pleura (cupula pleurae). Bedekt de apex van de long en vormt de grens tussen nek en
thorax.
14. Viscerale pleura (pleura visceralis). Deel van de pleura dat de long bedekt en ineenloopt met de
interlobale ruimtes.
15. Pariëtale pleura (pleura parietalis). Deel van de pleura dat de borstwand, diafragma en mediastinum
bedekt. Vormt op deze manier een ruimte waarin de long kan verblijven.
16. Medistenaal deel van de pariëtale pleura (pars mediastinalis). Deel van de pariëtale pleura die het
mediastinum bedekt.
17. Costaal deel van de pariëtale pleura (pars costalis). Deel van de pariëtale pleura die de ribben bedekt.
