La obra La Casa de Bernarda Alba de Federico García Lorca se escribió en 1936 pero
no se estrenó hasta 1945 en Buenos Aires. En esta época España está viviendo la II
república tras la Dictadura de Primo de Rivera y también la Guerra Civil en la cual el
autor es asesinado, por lo que podemos decir que España se encuentra en un
momento de crisis e inestabilidad. En literatura destaca la Generación del 27 con
autores como Salinas o Alberti, también destaca la renovación literaria fundiendo lo
culto y lo popular sin dejar de lado la tradición literaria cultura popular con
influencias como Góngora, Becquer o Machado. Lorca destaca tanto en teatro
(dramaturgo) como en poesía. En su obra dramática se aprecia el mismo eje
vertebrador en su poesía, la frustración en conexión con los temas del amor y la
muerte, los cuales podemos observar en la obra. También otros temas son la
autoridad contra la libertad, el mundo femenino (ya que solo aparecen mujeres en la
obra) y la tradición popular (como el luto). Además observamos un gran número de
simbolismos como el bastón, que simboliza autoridad, el vestido verde que simboliza
la rebeldía o el caballo que simboliza el deseo sexual masculino. En relación a su
estructura, la obra consta de tres partes o tres actos. Algo importante a destacar es
la diferencia de clases en relación al vocabulario utilizado ya que es muy diferente
el de la madre al de las hermanas o criadas. Por último, otro aspecto a destacar son
las canciones, muy representativas de la época y el lenguaje poético.
