1. DEFINITIE VAN EEN WONDDRAINAGE
- Definitie: afvoerkanaal aanleggen d.m.v. een wonddrain tussen een operatief bekomen
holte en de buitenwereld
o Afvoeren van bloed en overtollig weefselvocht
o Kans op infectie verkleinen
o Bevorderen van wondheling
2. DOEL VAN WONDDRAINAGE
2.1 Preventief
- Bloed/lymfe ophoping
- Ontstaan/uitbreiding van infectie
- Fistelvorming

3.1 Passieve drainage
Tubulaire drain
- Ronde gummi of latex drain

- Drain meestal aan huid vastgehecht
- Na inkorten houdt men drain met steriele veiligheidsspeld ter plaatse

- Nadelen: niet geschikt voor afvoer bloedklonters, verstoppingsgevaar door verkleving
