Aristóteles: La realidad y elconocimiento.
Para Aristóteles la realidad está sometido al cambio y al
movimiento. Para Platón supone que las cosas de este
mundo son como son porque participan en modelos
eternos como las ideas.
Para Aristóteles no existe otro mundo, solo el sensible.
Dentro de este encontramos dos tipos de seres,
substancias y accidentes. Las substancias son seres
que existen por sí mismos como un árbol. Los
accidentes son seres que solo pueden existir como
propiedades de las substancias como la blancura.
Algunos accidentes pueden ser de cantidad, cualidad,
lugar, tiempo, acciones u pasiones.
Para Aristóteles las substancias son compuestos de
materia y forma, no solo de materia como decían otros
filósofos.
La forma es un principio interno, propio de cada
substancia, que organiza la materia y determina que
puede realizar esa substancia. Por ejemplo, la forma es
lo que le permite a las plantas crecer.
Los cambios pueden ser de dos tipos.
A. Substanciales, cuando la materia pierde o gana
forma. Llamado “generación y corrupción”.
B. Accidentales, cuando la substancia se conserva,
pero cambian los accidentes. Dependiendo de qué
accidente cambie, pueden ser tres tipos.
Cualitativo, cuando cambia una cualidad (lo rojo se
vuelve verde)
Cuantitativo, cuando cambia una cantidad (un
árbol crece)
Local, cuando algo cambia de lugar (un animal que
se mueve).
