Tema 1 Novela Realista y Naturalista del siglo XIX.El Realismo se desarrolló en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX,
viene ligado al desarrollo industrial y urbano. El realismo es
un retrato de la sociedad burguesa hecha por los mismos
burgueses. Los escritores europeos más influyentes fueron
Balzac, Dickens, Flaubert, Tolstoi…
En la novela realista los autores se documentaban para
escribir, usaban ambientes contemporáneos, personajes con
personalidad propia, descripciones minuciosas y narrador
omnisciente.
El naturalismo es el realismo extremo, creado por Émile Zola.
El naturalismo buscaba aplicar la ciencia en la novela. Se uso
el determinismo que se basa en que las personas son
víctimas de sus circunstancias y carecen de control sobre su
destino.
El realismo y naturalismo en España empezó más tarde.
Había división política en los autores, unos eran
conservadores y otros eran progresista, y usaron el
regionalismo, que se centra en la representación de
características culturales y sociedades de regiones especificas
en España.
Como autores importantes de la novela realista tenemos a
Juan Valera, que usaba ambientes andaluces y un estilo
cuidado y su obra más famosa es Pepita Jiménez, una obra
de fe y amor. Emilia Pardo Bazán difundió artículos en los
que cuestiona el naturalismo llamado, La cuestión palpitante.
Escribía novelas con ambientación gallega y su obra más
importante es Los pazos de Ulloa.
Benito Pérez Galdós, escribió Episodios Nacionales, una serie
de 46 novelas históricas de cinco series, que recorren el siglo
XIX. Escribió novelas de tesis que pretendían defender ideas
