★ Africa is located on the east side of the map
★ West Africa is where most african slaves were stolen from
★ West Africa is where most african-americans have been able to trace their
ancestry.
★ South Africa is on the bottom of the continent map
★ Afrikans is africanised dutch
★ South Africa
○ 81% blacks, 8% whites, 9% colored, and 3% indian)
○ there was a lot of racial dissimilation
○ 11 official languages: isizulu being 1
○ Religion: christianity 74%; no affiliation 10%
★ Colored people were called colored if they were mixed
★ Township=black community
★ In the township there were 4 roomed houses which were built by the white
gov. for black people
★ Had to qualify to live in a township (qualify=have a job)
