LAPD COMBAT COURSE
21 foot line, 12 rounds in 25 seconds. The shooter starts with the pistol holstered. When the targets
face, shooters will fire 2 right body, 2 left body, and 1 head shot on each target. Shooters will then
perform an out-of-battery speed reload and repeat the same 6-shot sequence. Shooters will then
perform an in-battery speed reload, assess and holster. - ✔✔PHASE ONE
30 foot line, 2 body shots in 2 seconds. The shooter starts in a low ready position. When the left
target faces, the shooter will fire 2 body shots in 2 seconds. When the target faces away, the shooter
will return to the low ready. The shooter will repeat this 2 body shots in 2 seconds sequence when the
right target faces next, and one more time on the left target. After each pair of body shots is fired, the
shooter will return to the low ready. After the sixth body shot is fired, shooters will perform a tactical
reload with the 6-round magazine, assess and holster. - ✔✔PHASE TWO
36 foot line, 6 body shots in 8 seconds. The shooter starts in a low ready position. When the targets
face, the shooter will fire 2 on the right body, 2 on the left body and 2 on the right body in 8 seconds.
All shots are continuous fire. Shooters will then perform a tactical reload with the 5-round magazine,
assess and holster. - ✔✔PHASE THREE
51 foot line, 3 body shots in 12 seconds. The starting position is with the handgun at the low ready
and the shooter standing in the box on the right side of the barricade. When the right target faces, the
%
shooter moves behind the barricade and uses the barricade for cover and support and fires 3
slow-fire body shots in 12 seconds on the right target. The shooter then holsters. The shooter then
moves to the left side of the barricade and stands in the box. From the low ready position and
keeping the gun in a two-hand, primary hand grip, when the target faces, the shooter will assume a
left-side barricade position and again fire 3 slow-fire body shots in 12 seconds on the left target. The
shooter will then clear and holster an empty weapon. - ✔✔PHASE FOUR
The loading sequence is 6, 7, 6, 6 and 5. The magazines will be used in this order, so they should not
be mixed up. If the shooter only has 3 magazines, keep 11 rounds in a pocket and load them into
magazines after the line has been cleared by an instructor after Phase 1. - ✔✔COMBAT COURSE -
