P6 - Interrelation of strength and weaknesses with the external macro factors.

Strength and weaknesses of the college have direct contact with the business and it
can directly affect their business as well. Macro environmental factors affect the
performances, decisions making, strategy and working on the business. The college
must deal with their weaknesses in order to progress forward and survive because
competitors can take advantage of their weakness and use it a their strength
therefore they must improve their weaknesses in order to perform well.

Interrelationship between macro environment factors and organisation’s strength and
weakness are:

Political factors - Brexit will impact the FE sector, there will be less money available
in the sector. It will impact apprenticeship enrolments as employers might struggle to
survive in their business. Also the college is government funded which means Brexit
might affect the amount of funded that is given to the college which is bad because
the college is already financially struggling. If the college’s budget gets deducted
even further then they might struggle to keep up with everything. Course fees might
be affected because if course fees go high then that might affect student attendance
and enrolment applications because some students might not be able to afford to
pay for the course fees. Teachers going on strike because they want to increase their
pay, this must be agreed by the government as they have to agree to the pay rise.

Environmental factors - The college is building a new campus in town and
knocking down the one. They need to ensure they do this carefully and don't harm
the environment such as plants and any habitats because this will affect the
environment and the college has a corporate responsibility towards the environment
which they should obey and make sure they adhere to despite whatever they do. If
the college harmed the environment then this would set a bad example to all staff
and students at college. They are responsible for showing students the right path
