,Below is an overview of the mark scheme and what the examiners will be
looking for, for each AO of the Unseen Gothic Close Analysis question in
Paper 2. In these notes, I have not specifically identified which content
belongs to which AO because knowledge about the Gothic canon must be
present to achieve each AO. Therefore, I have also provided the general
essay plan I followed for each of my Unseen Gothic close analysis essays
that ensures that you hit each AO in the mark scheme. You’ll notice that
the structure of each paragraph is quite repetitive, but this allows the
essay to have a structured feel for the examiner, thus hitting AO1. To help
