Junctional Tachycardia ANS - a form of supraventricular tachycardia characterized by involvement of
the AV node.

Ventricular Tachycardia ANS - A condition in which the lower chambers of the heart (ventricles) beat
very quickly.

Sinus Tachycardia ANS - a sinus rhythm with an elevated rate of impulses, defined as a rate greater
than 100 beats/min (bpm) in an average adult.

Accelerated Idioventricular Rhythm ANS - a ventricular rhythm with a rate of between 40 and 120 beats
per minute. Idioventricular means "relating to or affecting the cardiac ventricle alone" and refers to any
ectopic ventricular arrhythmia.

PQRST Wave ANS - P-wave: The first little "hump" or "bump" you see is known as the P-wave. SA node
is responsible for this.

QRS Complex: The next area you see is a big spike. This spike is called the QRS complex. The bundle of
His, bundle branches, and Purkinje fibers are responsible for this.

1500 Method ANS - Count the number of small boxes between two R waves and divide this number
into 1500 to obtain the HR/min.

Example : If there were 12.5 small boxes between two successive R waves, then the heart rate would
be : 1500/12.5 small boxes = 120 bpm.

Sequence Method ANS - Count the number of big boxes between R waves and count using the
following numbers: 300-150-100-75-60-50. This can only be used on regular rhythms and not on
irregular rhythms

6 Second Method ANS - The second method can be used with an irregular rhythm to estimate the rate.
Count the number of R waves in a 6 second strip and multiply by 10.
