Hoofdstuk 14. Claimend gedrag
1. Inleiding
Claimend gedrag kan schadelijk zijn voor arts en patiënt. Kan bij patiënten die behoefte heeft aan
structuur, of uit kwetsbare positie. Wanneer arts zich als redder-expert opzet  reddingsdriehoek.
Patiënt kan zich steeds dwingender opstellen (als arts niet helpt)  ontstaan afhankelijk
interactiepatroon. Patiënt kan zich ook ambivalent opstellen  dan arts claimend om advies te
geven.
Escalerend interactiepatroon voorkomen/doorbreken  positief formuleren over wat u aan het
contact merkt, zeg een keer nee tegen de patiënt maar geef wel aan wat je wel te bieden hebt, of
houding aannemen die tegengesteld is aan patiënt.


2. Invoegen
Er een schepje bovenop doen
Cliënten die overdrijven omdat ze anders denken dat ze niet geholpen worden. Belangrijkste is dat je
laat weten dat je de patiënt gehoord hebt en als dat niet lukt schepje er bovenop doen  wat heeft
u het toch moeilijk.

De redder-expertpositie vermijden
Vanaf moment dat u een diagnose of plan van aanpak noemt  expertpositie. Vermijden door
patiënt te vragen wat er nu moet gebeuren.

Positief formuleren
Soms stilte  patiënt krijg mogelijkheid tot invullen en verantwoordelijkheid voor welzijn te nemen.
Dringt patiënt aan  positief formuleren. Opgebouwd krediet is belangrijk als u de claimende
patiënt in later stadium wilt confronteren met disfunctioneel gedrag.


3. Inventariseren
Houvast bieden en structureren
Claimende patiënt door onzekerheid behoefte aan houvast  doen door problemen samen te
concretiseren.


4. Interveniëren
Bij een claimende patiënt kunt u al snel het gevoel krijgen dat hij iets oneigelijks van u vraagt. Je wilt
grenzen stellen aan dit gedrag.

, Een vaste afspraak maken
Soms lukt het om het gewoon te benoemen en vaste afspraken te maken  positieve formulering.
Stoppen met ineffectief geruststellen
Door telkens gerust te stellen hou je het onderliggende probleem in stand. Om te stoppen hiermee
gebruik je een confronterende ik-boodschap en geef vervolgens aan wat u wel te bieden hebt.

Nee zeggen
Als u nee zegt zal dit eerder geaccepteerd worden wanneer je ook laat horen wat je wel te bieden
hebt die je positief formuleert.


5. Afronden
Over het algemeen vraag je of hij zich kan vinden in het afgesrpoken beleid, maar niet bij claimend
patiënt omdat hierdoor het spreekuur kan uitlopen. Het gesprek moet je positief afronden. Toon uw
medeleven en begrip voor frustratie, maar spreek ook verwachting uit dat u gelooft dat het
uiteindelijk met zijn onzekerheid leert omgaan.
