This is a declaration of honesty. The declaration of honesty is the first step in the legal process
that will follow in a case of cheating. You declare that you are aware of these requirements and
that you agree to it. Of course many students try to see how they can work together in groups
(physical or by means of social media). Clearly you are not allowed to do so. We have to inform
you that your responses may be subjected to integrity testing. We use statistical analyses of the
entire class’s submissions that enable us to flag cases of possible cheating. Identified cases are
submitted for further analysis and those flagged as high probable cases of cheating are
submitted for full investigation. So what may start out as a nice exchange of answers in a
WhatsApp group may end up in a nullified examination and getting expelled from studying at the
university again.
