, 1 Inleiding
Mijn paper gaat over het toestel de theodoliet. Dit toestel wordt gebruikt in
de landmeetkunde waarmee men hoekmetingen kan uitvoeren. Dit zowel
in het horizontale- als in het verticale vlak, het toestel is gericht op de
scheiding van situatie en hoogte. De theodoliet wordt al eeuwen gebruikt
bij bouwwerken, detailmetingen… Tegenwoordig wordt de theodoliet nog
altijd gebruikt maar langzaam wordt deze vervangen door het
totaalstation. De totaalstations hebben als voordeel dat deze ook afstanden
kunnen meten.
In deze paper wordt aandacht geschonken aan de technische aspecten
van zowel de optische-mechanische theodoliet als de elektronische
theodoliet. Ook bespreek ik wat er vooraf ging aan de theodoliet en de
hedendaagse toepassingen van het toestel.
