The fishing boat manufacturer has an organizational culture of
innovation. They try to ensure their founders, as well as their employess
are considered equals and incentives are given for ideas. Based on the
Competing Values Framework, I would say the manufacturer has a clan
based culture. I think this is very much an advantage to the company.
Every single person and their ideas are highly valued. When employees
feel valued by the company they work harder and are more inclined to
give every project one hundred percent. This also helps people work
together as a team because discussion is open and honest.

The company has a decentralized organizational structure- this is known
as a team based network. This is a newer concept and allows for more
flexibility and synchronization between team members. Although
everyone is contributing towards a common goal, I believe this to be a
disadvantage to this particular company. With a team based network,
the work load is often unevenly distributed, which I believe can cause
stress between co-workers, especially if one is contributing a substantial
amount of time and energy and another is doing very little. There is also
very little organization within the group and projects could take longer
because tasks are being repeated due to not having a lead.

The organizational culture of this company is one of innovation. This
helps the company make strategic decisions because employees and
founders are equals and there is a provided lab for product testing
(market research). The company then takes the feedback and improves
on their design.
