werking ● metabolisatie door niet-specifieke lever esterases
○ kort context-sensitive halfleven: continu infuus mogelijk, maar niet gedaan
○ korte ontwaaktijd (8-10 min) na dosis 0.3 mg/kg
● oplossing in 35% propyleenglycol
neveneffect ● onderdrukking adrenocorticale as (na langdurig infuus)
○ gevolg: minder cortisol en aldosteron → shock, mortaliteit
● excitatoire effecten: myoclonieën, spierhypertonie, PONV
● pijn bij injectie en veno-irritatie
