other complications

cardiovascular function, skin color, loc, and ability to respond to commands

Steps of PACU nursing assessment of pt ✅-baseline vitals are taken
-surgical site checked for drainage or hemorrhage
-ensure all drainage tubes and monitoring lines are connected and functioning
-check IV fluids or meds currently infusing and verify dosage and rate
-after this initial assessment; pt's general physical status is assessed and documented
