, Inleiding
Ik wil in het vervolg van mijn loopbaan in de zorg graag werken met kinderen die
geconfronteerd worden met kanker. Ik heb eerder een minor Oncologie gedaan en doe in het
4e jaar een 2e minor Kind en Jeugd. Eijlers et al. hadden vastgesteld dat een hele grote groep
kinderen (40-60%) angst heeft voordat ze een operatie moeten ondergaan. Zeker voor de
doelgroep waar ik in de toekomst mee wil werken is angst, bovenop de gevolgen van hun
ziekte, een extra belasting. Ik wilde graag weten of er mogelijkheden zijn om deze angst te
verminderen. Door een collega-student werd ik gewezen op muziektherapie als behandeling
om deze angst te verminderen. Daar wilde ik meer van weten. Ik heb daarom muziektherapie
voor de behandeling van angst bij kinderen voor een operatie als onderwerp gekozen.
